Regular services are held in the Church on a Sunday morning at 10.30 am and Sunday evenings at 6.30 pm (evenings usually twice a
month). Services usually last about an hour and can be fairly traditional or explore new forms of worship, including Taize services.
You will be very welcome to stay after the Sunday morning service and join us for a cup of coffee or tea, and a chat, in the John Greer Hall.
Our Minister, Revd. Liz Shaw, normally preaches on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in each month at St. Andrew’s and on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at Northwood Hills URC. “From the Pulpit” gives a few examples of Liz’s recent sermons, in
a condensed form. On the 1st and 3rd Sundays we arrange for guest Ministers and preachers at St. Andrew’s who, together with the Elders, ensure continuity of the ministry of God’s word to us.
The second Sunday of the month usually has a communion service, everyone is welcome to share the bread and wine. If you don’t wish to take the bread and wine as they are passed around the
congregation, just pass them on quietly.
Parade Services are held periodically with members of the Scout and Guide movements present. There are also special services around Christmas to which all are welcome. We have an annual
“Toy Service” where we collect donations of new toys for The Salvation Army to distribute to needy children, and a Harvest Festival Service thanking God for all we have, which also receives
donations of non-perishable goods for another local charity. Occasionally, the Junior Church section will lead the service. Sometimes we join with other local Churches for joint services.
Music is an important part of services - click here to find out more.
Information on forthcoming services, times and leaders can be found on the “What’s On?” diary (service information is highlighted in bold black type).
